Three generations of the Lindly family have been keeping your homes warm, your businesses running, and your farms operating — right here in Northeast Oklahoma.
Lindly's Propane is a family-owned and operated propane supplier that has been a cornerstone of the Jay, Oklahoma community for over six decades. What started as one man's vision to serve his neighbors has grown into a trusted name across the Grand Lake and Northeast Oklahoma region — all while never losing sight of the personal touch that set it apart from the beginning.
In 1960, R.J. "Dick" Lindly and his wife Rosalie saw an opportunity to provide something their community needed: dependable, fairly priced propane delivered by people who genuinely cared. They established the business on a small rented lot beside the old Kelly's store in downtown Jay — a humble start, but one driven by hard work and an unwavering commitment to doing right by their customers.
As word spread and the business grew, Dick and Rosalie made the decision to build a permanent home for the company. They broke ground on a new location at 911 South Main Street in Jay — the very same location where Lindly's Propane operates to this day. That continuity says something. In a world where businesses come and go, the Lindly family has stayed put, serving the same communities their founder set out to serve more than 60 years ago.
R.J. "Dick" Lindly and his wife Rosalie founded Lindly's Propane on a rented lot beside Kelly's store in downtown Jay, OK. With a single truck and an unshakable work ethic, they began serving their neighbors across Delaware County.
Growing customer demand called for a permanent home. Dick and Rosalie broke ground at 911 South Main Street in Jay — the same location that serves as the company's headquarters to this day. Their reputation for honest, reliable service continued to spread throughout the region.
Jeff Lindly grew up working alongside his father, learning the business from the ground up. From handling customer service to supporting daily operations, Jeff carried forward the hands-on, customer-first philosophy that Dick and Rosalie had built the company on.
Richard Lindly, Jeff's son, joined the family business — making Lindly's Propane a true three-generation operation. Together, Jeff and Richard brought fresh energy and modern practices while holding onto the values and personal service that earned the trust of their community decades earlier.
With over 60 years in business, Lindly's Propane continues to serve residential, commercial, and agricultural customers across Jay, Grove, Grand Lake, and Northeast Oklahoma. The trucks are newer, the routes are longer, but the mission hasn't changed: provide reliable propane service and treat every customer like a neighbor — because that's exactly what they are.
Jeff Lindly grew up working alongside his father, learning the value of showing up when people were counting on you. That same hands-on commitment defined how he ran the business when it became his turn to lead.
When Richard, Jeff's son, came on board in 2005, he brought the perspective of a new generation — but with the same core belief that had guided the family since day one: your customers are your neighbors, and you take care of your neighbors.
Today, the Lindly family takes immense pride in the fact that they're not just a propane company — they're a part of the fabric of this community. They've watched towns grow, supported local events, and been there for their customers through bitter winters, power outages, and everything in between. That kind of relationship isn't built overnight, and it's not something they take for granted.
